Login instructions & try-out exam for off-campus remote proctored exams

The try-out exam allows you to practice an off-campus proctored exam. It also serves as a test to ensure everything is working correctly.
The login procedure for the try-out exam is nearly identical to that of the real exam. If you successfully follow all the steps below, you will be fully prepared for the actual exam. Please note that you have up to 4 attempts per week to complete the try-out!

Recordings from the try-out exam are not saved and results will not be graded.

Before you start

Prepare yourself, your room and your equipment

Important: For your real exam, you can skip step 1. Your teacher or course coordinator will send you an email with a link to register for your exam in the remote proctoring software.

To start the try-out exam, follow the instructions below.

1. Register for the try-out exam

Go to https://examsupport.wur.nl/tryout-offcampus and fill in the form: Enter your full name and WUR email address and click Register. (Only enter your private email address when you have no WUR email address.)

You have now registered for the exam and will receive an email from [email protected] with a link to start the remote proctored exam.

2. Click on the link received from [email protected]

3. Choose your language

5. Allow Pruefster to use your camera and microphone

6. Check your webcam and your microphone

7. Allow Pruefster to record your entire screen

(You are not allowed to work with multiple screens. Please physically disconnect any extra screens and remove them from your desk.)

8. Open the Pruefster app and scan the QR-code

It is highly recommended to use the Pruefster app (option B). The app provides a more stable connection while streaming. There are known issues with scanning the QR-code without the Pruefster app.

9. Confirm the check of your internet connection

10. Allow Pruefster to show notifications

You're now ready to start your proctored session.

12. Show your Identification and confirm

13. Show that you are NOT wearing headphones

14. Confirm that there is nobody else present in the room

15. Open the Pruefster app on your mobile phone and scan the QR-code

16. Show that your desk is empty, except for allowed materials

17. Make a 360 degrees scan of your room

Final check

18. Check if your webcam-, screen- and mobile video feed are shown.

Start your try-out exam

19. Login into Ans

For students with a WUR account: After logging in to your WUR account, you will see this Ans login page. Click on Log in with your school account and select Wageningen University & Research.

For professionals: Fill in your email and your Ans password and click on Log in.

20. Select the Tryout exam students for 2024-2025 OFF CAMPUS

During your real exam you will see and be able to select your exam in this view.

21. Carefully read the instructions and insert the exam access code

Read the instructions, and scroll down to the bottom of the page to find and insert the exam access code to continue to the exam.

If you encounter any problems during the exam, you can use the chat on the right side of the screen to contact Pruefster support for technical issues. If the problem is in your Ans exam/WUR pages you can call the WUR examination support number: +31 317 48 88 81 (or 0317 48 88 81). When you call support your call is registered and the usage of your mobile phone will not be flagged as suspicious.
